Bridge Collapse
Bridge Collapse a search-and-rescue operation is ongoing after the partial collapse of the Francis Scott Key bridge in the US city of Baltimore after a ship collided with it.
At least two people have been pulled from the Patapsco River after the crash, with one seriously wounded. At least seven are feared to be in the water, with sonar indicating the presence of submerged vehicles.
The open ship’s bridge is situated on top and, on average, about 20 meters across from railing to railing. Minutes into the ship’s journey to Sri Lanka’s Colombo, it had just left the Port of Baltimore along the Patapsco River. At the time, several vehicles were on the bridge, including one the size of a tractor-trailer.
